About the position

The Software Quality Assurance (SWQA) Engineer will be an integral part of the Software Quality Assurance Group, collaborating closely with the software design team throughout the software development lifecycle. This role focuses on ensuring that all software releases meet the required standards and deadlines by planning, executing, and documenting software testing activities. The engineer will monitor software validation efforts, manage version control, and provide feedback on requirements and specifications to enhance the quality of software development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and document software testing activities for production software and in-house test applications.
  • Review software requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely feedback.
  • Monitor and communicate the overall validation project status to stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities to meet customer quality requirements.
  • Perform risk analysis and audit all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs throughout the development process.
  • Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements and facilitate effective communication.
  • Prepare reports summarizing the quality status of various development processes.
  • Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users on solutions.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
  • Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Knowledge of software development processes using CMMI, Automotive SPICE, TS16949, and ISO26262.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work concurrently on multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good understanding of the automotive development process.
  • Experience with electronic control systems and design specifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office tools and Lotus Notes.
