About the position

The Software QA Test Analyst is responsible for performing software testing for Culligan's IoT projects, which include embedded firmware, mobile software, cloud databases, and web dashboards. This role collaborates closely with Product Management, Electrical Engineers, and Software Engineers to ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of the products. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in a test analyst role, focusing on creating and executing test scripts, documenting results, and tracking defects to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software testing for IoT projects including embedded firmware, mobile software, cloud databases, and web dashboards.
  • Review requirements documentation, stories, and technical documents to assess required test coverage.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to review test scripts and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts in the software test library and project in test.
  • Document test results and defects.
  • Assist engineers and developers in debugging and retesting reported defects.
  • Support post-launch and product maintenance testing activities as needed.
  • Proactively learn other Culligan products and create test scripts in the test library.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a test analyst role.
  • Strong experience in creating and maintaining test plans and scripts for firmware, mobile applications, and web-based applications.
  • Familiarity with software validation testing methodologies including Test Planning, White Box and Black Box Testing, Smoke Testing, System and Integration Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development life cycle methodologies.
  • Keeping informed of industry and technology developments related to software test & validation.
