About the position

As a Software QA Test Engineer Intern at Medpace, you will be an integral part of our Information Technology team, contributing to the success of our corporate activities. This full-time, office-based internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of software testing. You will work collaboratively with a team to accomplish various tasks and projects that are crucial to the company's operations. Your role will involve assisting in the development and execution of functional test scripts for web-based applications, which is essential for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying bugs and documenting them using our bug-tracking software. Your participation in Daily Status meetings will be vital, as you will actively engage with team members to discuss progress and challenges. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in constructive peer reviews of functional test scripts, which will enhance your understanding of best practices in software testing. You may also assist with the scanning and filing of documentation as needed, ensuring that all project materials are organized and accessible. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. You will gain hands-on experience in software testing, develop your analytical and communication skills, and learn to use various test-related tools. Responsibilities

  • Assist with writing and executing functional test scripts for web-based applications
  • Identify bugs and document them in the bug-tracking software
  • Attend and actively participate in Daily Status meetings
  • Participate in constructive peer review of functional test scripts
  • Assist with the scanning and filing of documentation as needed

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Excellent computer skills, especially a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn test-related tools for software testing
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of writing and executing manual testing for software applications is preferred
