About the position

The Software QA Tester is responsible for providing quality assurance testing support to ensure that software and hardware products meet established quality standards. This role involves working independently to review requirements, write test cases, and execute tests on software and hardware products. The tester will utilize standard QA methodologies to validate integrated systems and communicate issues found during testing.

Responsibilities

  • Timely test planning, writing quality test cases, and executing test cases.
  • Implementing comprehensive, effective, and quality testing plans.
  • Preparing software QA Test Reports for team reviews.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle best practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Performing ongoing integration and regression testing of software and hardware products.
  • Actively participating in group meetings and discussions, meeting release deadlines and other goals on time.
  • Identifying, categorizing, and diagnosing software issues in a logical, methodical, and time-efficient manner.
  • Interfacing with software and hardware engineers to prepare test scenarios and scripts.
  • Working with customer support to identify unusual test requirements and provide information regarding test plans and schedules.
  • Testing company software products with approved test scenarios and scripts, reporting progress to the software QA Manager.
  • Using knowledge of testing and company products in lieu of test scenarios/scripts when lead times are short.
  • Halting testing with consent of the Software QA Manager when severe problems affect test results accuracy.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of ISO 9000-3 based company standards for software product evaluation and testing.
  • Assisting in all Certification related Testing activities.

Requirements

  • Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Android software.
  • Ability to perform requirement gathering, test planning, test creation, test execution, issue reporting, and test result reporting.
  • Ability to execute basic SQL queries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and possess excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute multiple priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional experience or familiarity with automation tools.
