The Software Quality Analyst, II is responsible for performing manual testing of applications and implementing appropriate testing methods to ensure production release readiness. This role involves defining test cases, executing various types of tests including black box, integration, negative, and regression tests, and documenting test results. The analyst will escalate issues as necessary and create defects for any test failures encountered during the testing process. Close collaboration with the development team is essential to communicate and demonstrate defects effectively. Additionally, the Software Quality Analyst will work alongside QA Automation Engineers to incorporate manual tests into automation suites, ensuring a seamless integration of testing processes. The position also requires partnering with Business Analysts to establish acceptance criteria and sizing efforts for projects. Participation in defect triage efforts is a key responsibility, as is contributing to discussions regarding deployment readiness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of QA best practices and the appropriate use of various testing methods. A proven ability to quickly understand complex and nuanced business processes and rules is crucial for success in this role. Familiarity with defect tracking systems and experience testing within an Agile environment are also important. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with a basic knowledge of SQL to assist with testing efforts. Experience with Selenium or other automation tools is considered a bonus.
