About the position

As a Software Quality Administrator at Pearson, your primary responsibility will be to perform comprehensive testing and verification of online assessments across various hardware and software configurations. This role is crucial in ensuring that the assessments function correctly and meet the required standards before they are deployed. You will utilize qTest to report any defects encountered during testing, and you will be responsible for troubleshooting these issues and retesting until the test runs are clean and approved. In this position, you will engage in testing and verification of online assessments using multiple platforms, including Zephyr and Jira. You will meticulously record testing configurations and test runs, documenting any defects that arise during the process. It is essential to communicate effectively with team members to troubleshoot, reproduce, and retest issues, ensuring a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Additionally, you will be tasked with updating TestNav Apps and configurations on various devices, keeping track of the versions used during testing. Your role will also involve accessing and referencing various systems and documentation to aid in validation procedures, as well as utilizing virtual machines for online assessment testing. When necessary, you will create or update documentation for testing procedures to maintain clarity and consistency in the testing process. This position may require you to work nights and/or weekends, depending on project needs, and it offers the flexibility of remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and verification of online assessments using multiple platforms including Zephyr and Jira.

  • Create or update documentation for testing procedures when needed.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of computer and mobile device usage
  • Familiarity with downloading Apps and configuring devices
  • Ability to follow instructions and direction
  • Personable attitude
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work on nights and/or weekends when required

Nice-to-haves

  • Software testing experience with Zephyr and Jira
  • Technical knowledge of XML or QTI
