About the position
FCP Euro is seeking a dedicated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our remote team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality of our software products before they are launched. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating tests to identify issues, executing manual testing procedures, generating documentation, and interfacing with various stakeholders. In this position, the Software Quality Assurance Engineer will utilize their knowledge of programming, process design, and testing to meet stakeholder requirements and maintain service quality. The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to define the scope of requirements and implement the QA process for the development team. They will act as the first responders to bug reports, identifying and scoping problems for development while also seeking opportunities to automate user testing. A passion for learning new technologies and a proven track record of working on software projects in a team environment are essential. The successful candidate will have experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber, web development, and the creation and execution of test plans and cases. They will also have a strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, and be comfortable working directly with project stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Creating and executing detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities
- Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly and tracking escaped defects
- Applying testing processes for new and existing products
- Designing, developing and executing automation scripts using open source tools, CI pipelines, and Atlassian products such as JIRA
- Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
- Leveraging Cucumber & Selenium to automate user acceptance tests
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
- Experience with a BDD test framework
- Rspec testing experience
- Ruby on Rails experience
- HTML/Haml markup experience
- Comfortable incorporating Javascript/Coffee
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, or relevant experience
Benefits
- Base Salary of $90,000 to $110,000
- Total compensation opportunity of $105,000 to $130,000 annually
- Full-time remote position
