About the position

The Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester position at Futurex involves testing software for enterprise-grade data encryption hardware. This on-site role offers opportunities for rapid advancement and requires candidates to engage in manual testing procedures in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes individual visibility within the team and the ability to test programs based on defined requirements, prepare test specifications, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot software and firmware developed for Futurex's line of applications and/or cryptographic devices and report conclusions in a clear and concise manner.
• Develop new tests that validate new features, verify issue resolution, perform stress tests, and identify security weak points.
• Consult with team members to develop, understand, and update requirements for product features.
• Write and maintain testing documentation on subjects including API functionality and software issue creation/resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality of information being processed, stored, or accessed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in any field; Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), or Electronics & Computer Technology (ECT) is preferred.
• Comfortable with Linux and Bash (SysV and systemd).
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.

Nice-to-haves

• SQL experience and basic understanding of relational databases.
• Familiarity with automated and manual software testing tools and frameworks.
• Intermediate proficiency with Python (version 3 preferred).
• Experience with version control software such as Git or Subversion.
