About the position

The Software Quality Assurance Tester at Tricon Residential is responsible for supporting the engineering team by developing and executing test plans for new software enhancements. This role involves managing the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLS), ensuring that software meets requirements and is stable for production release, and documenting all testing processes and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLS) including requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, environmental setup, test execution, and test cycle closure.
• Create test cases, scenarios, and plans based on the requirements of the enhancement.
• Execute all test plans to ensure that the newly developed software complies with the requirements and is stable for production release.
• Perform Regression, Functional, Performance, Usability, and User Acceptance testing based on documented requirements.
• Document and track defects, working with the Product Manager to ensure items are addressed and retested.
• Participate in Sprint Planning and Story Pointing exercises to provide estimates on risk and complexity of testing the development items.
• Thoroughly document all test plans and outcomes in JIRA.
• Troubleshoot software bugs and assist users with support tickets.
• Create training documentation on new releases.
• Maintain understanding of new testing strategies and best practices.
• Compile and distribute weekly IT report containing accomplishments.

Requirements

• BA/BS or combination of industry certifications and equivalent related work experience of 2 years or more.
• 1-2 years of experience with technical troubleshooting, customer support, or account management.
• Experience testing software in an agile environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
• Ability to think critically to analyze issues and propose solutions.
• Work well in a team environment; willingness to collaborate to find optimal business solutions.
• Intermediate experience writing SQL queries preferred.
