About the position

The Software QA Tester at Neogen Corporation is responsible for conducting manual testing activities for software and hardware instruments. This role focuses on participating in the product release process, ensuring the quality and functionality of products through thorough testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agile Scrum meetings with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and prioritize testing activities.
  • Create and execute test cases and test plans to ensure robust implementation of new features and bug fixes.
  • Conduct thorough manual testing to validate hardware instruments and software products' functionality, performance, and compatibility across different platforms.
  • Perform comprehensive testing on various hardware instruments to ensure accurate data acquisition and transmission to the connected application.
  • Identify, document, and report bugs, defects, and improvement opportunities using bug-tracking tools (Azure DevOps).
  • Validate resolution of reported bugs.
  • Evaluate the potential for new test cases to enhance code coverage as part of continuous improvement commitment.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to senior management and stakeholders on testing progress, issues encountered, and overall software quality.
  • Participate actively in test case reviews, test strategy discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or an Engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with manual testing.
  • In-depth understanding of manual testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts for hardware instruments and software.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, TestRail or other project management and test case repository.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Scrum ceremonies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in testing instruments and data management desktop applications is advantageous.
