About the position

The Management Council of the Ohio Education Computer Network is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester to join their State Software Development Team. This role involves developing software solutions for Ohio schools, ensuring software quality through testing, and collaborating with developers in an agile environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in software testing, particularly with Java, and will be responsible for creating test plans and implementing testing protocols to prevent software defects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for software applications.
• Collaborate with software developers to verify functionality according to specifications.
• Implement both automated and manual testing protocols to ensure software quality.
• Participate in agile practices including sprints and code reviews.
• Document and report on testing results and software defects.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in developing unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Proficiency in Java programming language.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of agile software development practices.
