About The Position

As a Software Solutions Engineer at OA, you play a critical role in the development and deployment of products through various stages of maturity - Minimum Viable Demos (MVDs), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and Operational Products. You work closely with business development, system architects, product owners, software developers, and customers to ensure that our software solutions meet current and future business needs and are scalable, reliable, and highly performant. Technical expertise and ability to translate complex operational concepts into practical software solutions is crucial.

Requirements

  • DOD Secret clearance required; ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance is necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to clearance requirement.
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience is required; advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge/skills in C++, Java, Python, JS/TS, and ReactJS.
  • Working knowledge/skills in Docker, K8s, and Helm.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in product development or product management.
  • Prior experience working with SaaS platforms or enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Experience with Geospatial software and analysis.
  • Experience in Visible, Infrared, Radar, Synthetic Aperture Radar remote sensing data processing.
  • Experience with machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), training, operational implementations, and MLOps.
  • Certification in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and actively assist in design, development, and implementation of scalable remote sensing software solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to align technical solutions with business requirements and product roadmaps, with emphasis on MVDs and MVPs.
  • Work closely with customers to gather requirements, identify technical needs, and propose solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Actively develop software solutions and work with software architects on platform architecture guidance, coding standards, testing practices, and optimization techniques.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure seamless integration of software products and customer success.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve development practices and product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate on whitepaper and proposal writing as appropriate.
