The Software Sourcing Project Manager at Ford Motor Company plays a crucial role in managing software licensing operations for in-vehicle needs. This position focuses on refining and scaling the software and digital licenses management process, developing strategies for simplification and standardization, and building robust vendor relationships. The role requires collaboration with various internal stakeholders to address procurement needs and ensure efficient operations within the software procurement domain.

  • Onboard and become a contributing member of the Software Licensing team focusing on In-Vehicle licensing operations and renewals.
  • Collaborate to resolve payment issues related to global in-vehicle software licenses by managing cross-functional projects with Product Development, Finance, and other teams.
  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and implementation of the Licensing Management Platform.
  • Utilize the ARIBA system for Indirect PO placement and work with business owners to ensure correct payments to software suppliers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on current and future software features impacting licensing operations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving ideas within the software procurement process.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and streamline the request and approval process.
  • Interact with key software suppliers to ensure alignment on features, costs, and renewals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes with global cross-functional teams.
  • Lead reporting and analytics initiatives to monitor performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Approximately 4 or more years of experience in software supply chain/commodity management or software technical/product management in the Automotive, Electronics, or consumer industries.
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills, with the ability to drive decisions based on data.
  • Negotiation skills to navigate internal and external situations effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal with internal stakeholders and find creative solutions.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently; proactive and resourceful; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft productivity tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in software development and/or software project management in embedded systems, applications, data-as-a-service, or software-as-a-service.
  • Experience in purchasing and vendor management for software license production and renewals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Strategic and innovative thinking skills to streamline business processes and manage change effectively.
