This position will serve as a systems architect and systems engineer within the Global Security Future Architectures (GSFA) Ground Team. The GSFA Ground Team is engaged in multiple concurrent contracts to guide several systems through their design phase review milestones, specifically the System Requirements Review (SRR) and Preliminary Design Review (PDR). As a Systems Architect Staff, the individual will be assigned to a ground subsystem team and will play a crucial role in the development of the subsystem structure, behavior, and interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess over 9 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or software engineering, with a strong emphasis on technical expertise and leadership capabilities. The responsibilities of this role include defining ground subsystem structures, behavior, interfaces, and data flows, contributing to design and model development by creating or refining SysML elements and diagrams, and participating in the development of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents. The candidate will also conduct or participate in design trade studies, develop plans for DevSecOps pipelines and testing approaches, and engage in interface working groups to define and mature external interfaces. Additionally, the role involves investigating options and strengthening decisions related to system and software architecture, including subsystem behavior, interactions between subsystems or externals, cloud architecture, formats and protocols, microservice architecture, resource sizing, CI/CD and automation approaches, and the integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) products. The candidate will also be expected to present at external meetings and demonstrations, showcasing their work and findings to stakeholders.
