About the position

The position involves creating systems and software requirement specifications for a web-based engineering diagnostic tool that connects to construction equipment for service and testing. The role requires the creation of documentation that includes business, functional, performance, and interface requirements, which will be interpreted by software engineers for the design and development of software in C++ and the .Net framework. Additionally, the candidate will document use cases, architecture and logic flow, control/diagnostics algorithms, UI storyboards, database design, and communication interfaces. The role also involves reading and interpreting software written in the C++ language.

Responsibilities

• Create systems and software requirement specifications for a web-based engineering diagnostic tool.
• Develop documentation including business, functional, performance, and interface requirements for software engineers.
• Document use cases, architecture and logic flow, control/diagnostics algorithms, UI storyboards, database design, and communication interfaces.
• Read and interpret software written in the C++ language.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 3-7 years of experience in embedded software design, system engineering, or web and Windows application design.
• Strong writing and documentation skills with the ability to clearly state unambiguous and testable requirements.
• Ability to consider system architecture design criteria affected by user, software, and hardware requirements.
• Experience developing in the C++ programming language.
• Experience with SQL database design.
• Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet communication.
• Good leadership, oral, and written communication skills.
