About the position

The Software Systems Engineering Project Lead will oversee a team of engineers in delivering advanced Torpedo Guidance and Control systems for the US Navy. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to manage project performance in alignment with cost, scope, and schedule. The position emphasizes innovation, effective communication, and the integration of new technologies to meet customer commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a program and manage a team of engineers responsible for delivering advanced Torpedo Guidance and Control systems.
• Demonstrate technical excellence in engineering or related technology areas.
• Oversee program technical performance to ensure project requirements are integrated, tested, and verified.
• Lead and manage the resolution of technical issues and ensure implementation of solutions.
• Develop and maintain engineering plans, risks, and opportunities, following change management processes.
• Conduct monthly engineering status reviews and provide material for program reviews.
• Motivate the engineering team and provide performance feedback and management.
• Manage engineering resources, organizational interfaces, and engineering scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Past system engineering background and leadership experience, including cost, scheduling, and technical management.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred at time of hire.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
