About the position

The Software Technical Writer at Moffatt & Nichol will be responsible for creating user-friendly documentation and training materials for complex technical solutions within the NextPort software team. This role involves translating intricate engineering concepts into clear, engaging content that enhances user understanding and product adoption. The writer will also collaborate with marketing teams to develop compelling marketing collateral that effectively communicates product features and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, comprehensive, and accurate user documentation by translating complex engineering material into easily digestible content for end users.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Graphics Department to create intuitive diagrams, infographics, and other visual aids that simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Ensure consistency across all documentation by adhering to standardized templates, language, and terminology, making information cohesive and easily navigable.
  • Develop and maintain structured documentation that allows users to quickly find the information they need, improving usability and accessibility.
  • Produce well-designed training decks and create how-to videos to facilitate user understanding and product adoption.
  • Leverage deep understanding of technical solutions to enhance existing marketing content, highlighting compelling key features, business benefits, and overall value propositions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, Communications or related area; required
  • Proven experience as a technical writer in a software or technology environment; required
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation; required
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and graphic software; required
  • Experience creating training materials, including presentations and video content; required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, graphic designers, and marketing team; required
