About the position

The Software Technical Writer at Moffatt & Nichol will be responsible for creating clear and comprehensive documentation and training resources for the NextPort software team. This role involves translating complex technical solutions into user-friendly content, crafting compelling training and marketing materials, and ensuring that end users can fully understand and utilize the product. The writer will also distill key product features and benefits into impactful messaging for marketing collateral, enhancing the product's marketability.

Responsibilities

• Write clear, comprehensive, and accurate user documentation by translating complex engineering material into easily digestible content for end users.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Graphics Department to create intuitive diagrams, infographics, and other visual aids that simplify complex technical concepts.
• Ensure consistency across all documentation by adhering to standardized templates, language, and terminology, making information cohesive and easily navigable.
• Develop and maintain structured documentation that allows users to quickly find the information they need, improving usability and accessibility.
• Produce well-designed training decks and create how-to videos to facilitate user understanding and product adoption.
• Leverage deep understanding of technical solutions to enhance existing marketing content, highlighting compelling key features, business benefits, and overall value propositions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, Communications or related area; required
• Proven experience as a technical writer in a software or technology environment; required
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation; required
• Proficiency in using documentation tools and graphic software; required
• Experience creating training materials, including presentations and video content; required
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, graphic designers, and marketing team; required
