About the position

As a Software Test Engineer II at Medtronic, you will be part of a world-class team focused on the development and enhancement of the Robotic Assisted Surgery platform. This role involves utilizing software verification techniques for medical systems, engaging with an Agile scrum team, and working on the verification of control software for robotic instrumentation. You will develop and execute both automated and manual tests to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the advancement of medical technology that improves patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute automated and manual tests for the robotic subsystem's control software.
• Engage with an Agile scrum team to verify software for instrumentation.
• Support the electromechanical verification of surgical instruments and their control software.
• Learn and apply software verification techniques in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in the development and execution of test protocols for software requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or an advanced degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of software verification techniques for regulated systems.
• Hands-on experience in developing and executing software tests.

Nice-to-haves

• Entry to medium level Python or C++ coding ability.
• Entry level MATLAB and/or Simulink experience.
• Experience with Medical Product verification and FDA guidance.
• Basic understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
• Experience in testing medical devices controlled by software.
