About the position

The Software Test Engineer in Cloud/NGFW Security at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for validating core networking and security features within a fast-paced QA team. This role involves working on innovative technologies related to cybersecurity, contributing to product validation, and collaborating with multi-functional teams to enhance product quality and resolve customer issues.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small and fast-paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver impactful results.
• Contribute in all phases of end-to-end product and solution validation.
• Collaborate with different development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality.
• Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process.
• Work with DevOps and Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA and Automation Engineering.
• Hands-on experience testing network and/or other security products.
• Strong automation/programming experience in Python.
• Working knowledge and experience with TCP/IP and application layer protocols (HTTP/HTTPS/SMTP, etc.).
• Experience with various Linux platform testing & troubleshooting tools.
• Ability to build and maintain complex networking testbeds.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on QA skills employing test frameworks, commercial test sets, home-grown tools, and automated testing.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, or other cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is desirable.
• Graduate degree (BS or MS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical discipline or equivalent military experience required.
