About the position

As a Software Test Engineer at GDIT, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to complex problems, ensuring the end user's experience is prioritized. This role involves designing, developing, and testing software applications, particularly in support of the Advanced Training Domain and Joint After Action Review (JAAR). You will work collaboratively with teams and customers to plan and execute sprints, conduct testing in various environments, and create documentation to support software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, plan, and test engineering specifications for software programs and applications.
• Collaborate with team and customer for sprint planning, execution, and reviews.
• Formulate software solutions, explore problematic areas, and investigate issues.
• Conduct developer testing in lab environments and aboard ships to verify software execution against requirements.
• Generate documentation, code comments, and maintain clear coding practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Engineering Discipline.
• 7+ years of related experience in systems engineering.
• Experience in systems engineering with a working knowledge of Unix.
• Previous C# software experience.
• Ability to develop tasks and execute plans.
• Must earn Security + certification within 90 days of hire.

• Operational or development knowledge of training systems.
• Experience with JIRA and subversion.
