About the position

The position involves overseeing the development and integration of software for marine applications, focusing on advanced technologies such as IoT and ADAS. The role is critical in ensuring the functionality and security of software systems that enhance the boating experience. The candidate will work within a hybrid environment, collaborating with teams to innovate and implement solutions that meet the needs of recreational marine users.

Responsibilities

  • Review and create technical requirements, best practices, and validation procedures for marine software applications.
  • Oversee software toolchains and libraries for marine applications, considering current and future environments.
  • Debug field issues and complex integration problems in system engineering.
  • Draft requirements for software security, privacy, and safety.
  • Develop, integrate, and test software for advanced HMI and autonomous features.
  • Author software functional specifications and develop detailed design documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in software development or architecture.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, Cellular/LTE, IoT, MQTT, WebSockets, CAN, NMEA2000.
  • Proficiency in full stack development using React Native, Kotlin, Android, Java, Python, C/C++.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices and tools like Jira, Github, and Confluence.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • B.S/M.S. in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with IoT and embedded systems.
  • Experience with SDK development and autonomous/ADAS software delivery.
  • Familiarity with ADAS and autonomous sensors such as sonar, radar, lidar, and cameras.
  • Experience in the marine environment.
