About the position

ThermoAnalytics, Inc. is seeking experienced Software Test Engineers to join their team in Novi or Hancock, Michigan. This role involves designing, building, and leading the product development of advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation software. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for remote work 2-3 days a week, and emphasizes a family-oriented culture and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain testing processes and tools on both Linux and Windows platforms.
• Create and implement tools to automate the testing process.
• Write and execute user level tests - acceptance, exploratory, UI, performance, stress.
• Gather test requirements from product owners and in-house engineers.
• Validate customer reported defects and document defects identified by internal testing.
• Pair programming to write, test, debug and refactor test code.
• Review user documentation and tutorials.
• Demonstrate features to obtain direct user feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related software programming field, or 2 years' software development experience.
• Experience/proficiency designing, implementing, debugging and testing computer code (C++ preferred).
• Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development cycle (modern source control such as Subversion/Git, build and packaging, unit/system/integration testing).
• Ability to effectively communicate technically complex information to others.
• Ability to collaborate well with technical and non-technical staff members.
