About the position
The Software Test Engineer at Actalent is responsible for developing, documenting, and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts. This role focuses on performing various types of testing including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing. The engineer will also identify, record, and track defects, analyze testing results, and provide suggestions to enhance software quality. A significant aspect of the role involves automating testing processes, with a current emphasis on 90% automation and 10% manual testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.
- Identify, record, and track defects.
- Analyze testing results and provide suggestions to improve software quality.
- Automate testing processes using appropriate tools and frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferably with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Proven experience in software testing with a solid understanding of testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium and Pytest.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, Trac, or Bugzilla.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages including Javascript, Python, and C++.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
