About the position

The Software Test Engineer at Bluestaq is a critical role responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of software applications through both manual and automated testing. This position requires a motivated engineer with hands-on technical expertise to design, implement, and maintain tests, while actively participating in Agile processes and collaborating with multiple teams to advocate for quality standards and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests.
  • Complete both Manual and Automated testing to ensure comprehensive quality assurance coverage across various software applications.
  • Engage in daily hands-on automation activities using tools like Postman, Ranorex, and Robot Framework.
  • Apply expertise in front-end and back-end technologies to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar languages.
  • Maintain current knowledge of software test design and best practices in testing methodologies.
  • Leverage test techniques compatible with diverse software applications to validate functionality and performance.
  • Actively participate in Scrum/Agile processes, contributing to iterative and collaborative development.
  • Advocate for quality standards, raising issues and highlighting risks during the testing phase.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams, sharing knowledge and supporting team objectives with strong communication skills.
  • Positively influence peers and promote a quality-driven culture.
  • Approach complex problems with creative solutions, applying software testing knowledge innovatively.
  • Scope and manage work on complex, multi-engineer projects, ensuring team alignment and timely delivery.
  • Proficiently use Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira for documentation and project tracking.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach in seeking clarifications, balancing persistence with knowing when to ask for support.
  • Embrace a growth mindset, taking ownership of personal development and self-improvement initiatives.
  • Display strong ownership and accountability, independently prioritizing and escalating unforeseen challenges.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of software test experience with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on technical expertise in software testing and design.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Postman, Ranorex, and Robot Framework.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Confluence and Jira.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams.
