About the position

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Software Tester/Integrator to join our Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the development team to understand the software requirements and design test plans and strategies accordingly. Identify the key functionalities and features to be tested.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, integration, and usability testing. Develop test cases and test scripts to validate the software against the defined requirements. Execute tests and document the results.
  • Identify and report any defects or bugs found during testing. Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues. Track and monitor the progress of defect resolution.
  • Working with clients to test and troubleshoot real traffic systems that are operating in some of the biggest cities in the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 6+ months of related work experience or internship(s), preferred
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem, preferred
  • Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Full stack web development experience building applications (HTML5, CSS3, .NET, C#, JavaScript, and SQL)
  • Common software design patterns (MVC)
  • RESTful APIs (.NET)
  • JavaScript libraries (jQuery, Kendo UI)
  • Relational database design (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Cloud application development (Azure)
  • Responsive website design (Bootstrap)
