About the position

BlueWater Federal is seeking a Software Tester to provide essential support to the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This role is critical in ensuring the daily operations and maintenance of the DOT web platform, specifically utilizing the Office of the Secretary of Transportation's Drupal Content Management System (CMS). The Software Tester will be involved in various tasks, including the integration and development of new content and websites within the CMS, as well as the migration to Drupal 8 and potentially the adoption of a new CMS. The Software Tester will be responsible for designing and testing software functionality and usability. This includes conducting tests, analyzing results, and reporting observations to the design team. The role requires a thorough review of software requirements and the preparation of test scenarios. The Software Tester will execute tests on software usability, analyze test results for database impacts, errors or bugs, and overall usability. Additionally, the Tester will prepare comprehensive reports on all aspects related to the software testing conducted and will report findings to the design team. Participation in design reviews is also expected, where the Tester will provide valuable input on requirements, product design, and potential issues that may arise during the development process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
• Must have an active Public Trust clearance.
• 3+ years of software testing experience.
• Working knowledge of software and test design.
• Capability to run through tests and analyze results in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies.
• Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs.
• Working knowledge of programming.
