About the position

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Software Tester to create test plans and thoroughly test software deliverables. This position will be fully remote within the United States. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product performs to specifications. You will plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product. This role involves designing test cases for test plans and creating test scenarios in which tests are carried out. You will compile data, define required changes, and report defects and problems that occurred during the test process. Additionally, you will implement and participate in the walkthrough of the product, with automated testing being utilized based on the hiring manager's discretion. In this role, you will consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications. You will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures as needed. Your responsibilities will include developing test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. You will implement the testing processes and ensure that all test activities follow those processes, producing reports on each test activity and tracking test metrics. Monitoring for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and reporting to management periodically will also be part of your duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience (or commensurate experience).
  • Ability to create test plans using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to meticulously test and scrutinize software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
