About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking a Software Tester to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software deliverables. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive test plans and executing thorough testing procedures to validate software performance against specifications. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of government IT services, contributing to our mission of transforming how government agencies operate and serve citizens. In this position, you will design, develop, and implement various testing methods and equipment. You will plan and arrange the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating products. Your responsibilities will include designing test cases for test plans, creating test scenarios, and compiling data to define required changes. You will also report any defects and problems encountered during the testing process, ensuring that all issues are documented and communicated effectively. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will consult with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications. You will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures that align with best practices. Your expertise will be essential in developing test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. You will implement testing processes and ensure that all test activities adhere to these processes, producing detailed reports on each test activity and tracking relevant metrics. Continuous improvement is a priority, and you will monitor testing processes for enhancements through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis, reporting your findings to management periodically. Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product.
  • Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out.
  • Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
  • Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develop testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Ability to create test plans using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in testing and scrutinizing software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
