GovCIO is currently seeking a Software Tester to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software deliverables. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive test plans and executing thorough testing procedures to validate software performance against specifications. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of government IT services, contributing to our mission of transforming how government agencies operate and serve citizens. In this position, you will design, develop, and implement various testing methods and equipment. You will plan and arrange the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating products. Your responsibilities will include designing test cases for test plans, creating test scenarios, and compiling data to define required changes. You will also report any defects and problems encountered during the testing process, ensuring that all issues are documented and communicated effectively. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will consult with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications. You will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures that align with best practices. Your expertise will be essential in developing test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. You will implement testing processes and ensure that all test activities adhere to these processes, producing detailed reports on each test activity and tracking relevant metrics. Continuous improvement is a priority, and you will monitor testing processes for enhancements through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis, reporting your findings to management periodically.
