GovCIO is currently seeking a Software Tester to join our team in a fully remote capacity within the United States. The Software Tester will be responsible for creating test plans and thoroughly testing software deliverables to ensure they meet specified requirements. This role is crucial in the software development lifecycle, as it involves designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment to validate product performance against specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to meticulously scrutinize software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality. In this position, the Software Tester will plan and arrange the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating products. They will design test cases for test plans and create test scenarios in which tests are executed. The role also involves compiling data, defining required changes, and reporting defects and problems that occur during the testing process. The Software Tester will implement and participate in product walkthroughs and may utilize automated testing methods based on the discretion of the hiring manager. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Software Tester will consult with the development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications. They will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing comprehensive testing procedures. The Software Tester will be responsible for developing test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. They will implement testing processes and ensure that all test activities adhere to these processes, producing reports on each test activity and tracking test metrics. Continuous improvement of testing processes will be monitored through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and periodic reporting to management.
