About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking a Software Tester to join our team in a fully remote capacity within the United States. The Software Tester will be responsible for creating test plans and thoroughly testing software deliverables to ensure they meet specified requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and performance of our software products, which are designed to enhance government IT services. In this position, the Software Tester will design, develop, and implement various testing methods and equipment. This includes planning and arranging the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating products. The tester will create detailed test cases and scenarios, compile data, and report any defects or issues encountered during the testing process. Additionally, the tester will participate in product walkthroughs and may utilize automated testing methods as deemed appropriate by the hiring manager. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Software Tester will consult with development and requirements teams to coordinate application testing. The tester will also perform analysis and diagnostics, develop testing procedures, and create comprehensive test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. Ensuring adherence to testing processes and producing reports on test activities will be essential, along with tracking test metrics and monitoring for continual process improvement through various analyses. Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product.
  • Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out.
  • Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
  • Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develops testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Ability to create test plans using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in testing and scrutinizing software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
