About the position

GovCIO is seeking a Software Tester to join our team in a fully remote capacity within the United States. The primary responsibility of this role is to create comprehensive test plans and conduct thorough testing of software deliverables to ensure they meet specified requirements and functionality. The Software Tester will design, develop, and implement various testing methods and equipment, ensuring that the product performs to the required specifications. This includes planning and arranging the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating the product effectively. In this role, the Software Tester will be responsible for designing test cases for test plans and creating test scenarios in which tests are executed. They will compile data, define required changes, and report any defects or issues that arise during the testing process. The tester will also implement and participate in product walkthroughs, and may utilize automated testing methods based on the discretion of the hiring manager. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Software Tester will consult with the development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications. They will perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures that ensure thorough evaluation. The tester will create test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests, ensuring that all test activities adhere to established processes. Additionally, they will produce reports on each test activity and track relevant test metrics, while monitoring for continual improvement in testing processes through various analyses and reporting to management periodically.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product.
  • Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out.
  • Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
  • Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develops testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Ability to create test plans using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in testing and scrutinizing software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
