About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking a Software Tester to join our team. This position is fully remote within the United States, allowing for flexibility while contributing to our mission of transforming government IT. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for creating test plans and thoroughly testing software deliverables to ensure they meet specifications and function as intended. Your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment, as well as planning and arranging the necessary labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating products. In this position, you will design test cases for test plans and create test scenarios in which tests are carried out. You will compile data, define required changes, and report defects and problems that occur during the testing process. Additionally, you will implement and participate in product walkthroughs, and may utilize automated testing based on the discretion of the hiring manager. Collaboration with the development and requirements teams will be essential to coordinate and test applications effectively. Your responsibilities will also include performing analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products, developing testing procedures, and producing reports on each test activity while tracking test metrics. Continuous improvement of the testing process will be a key focus, as you will monitor failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis, reporting findings to management periodically. This role is crucial in ensuring that our software products are of the highest quality and meet the needs of our government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product.
  • Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out.
  • Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process.
  • Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develop testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Ability to create test plans using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Meticulous testing and scrutiny of software deliveries as they pertain to proposed functionality.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
