About the position

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking a dedicated Software Tester (Retail Systems) to join our team in Merrifield, Virginia, supporting the United States Postal Service. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for 60% remote work after an initial three-month period at the USPS Engineering Systems location. As a federal government IT systems integrator, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that address mission challenges with agility and expertise. Our services encompass a wide range of IT solutions, including data analytics, digital services, systems engineering, and infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will participate in the development and testing of various software programs and integrated technologies that support retail solutions for our government client. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and analyzing Requirement Specifications, conducting Post Implementation Validation in the Production environment, and documenting defects in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). You will also develop new ADD files corresponding to Change Requests, perform test activities for these requests, and create Test Cases and Test Scripts to ensure thorough testing of software and infrastructure releases. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to perform End-to-End Testing, Regression Testing, and testing of system defects. You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish your goals, handling a variety of complex tasks. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions provided to our clients, contributing to the overall success of our mission-focused initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and testing of various software programs and related integrated technologies that support retail solutions for the US Government Client.
  • Perform Requirement Specifications reviews and analysis, and conduct Post Implementation Validation in the Production environment prior to formal introduction to the field.
  • Document and follow up on in-process defects documented in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Develop new ADD files corresponding to Change Requests.
  • Perform test activities for new Change Requests.
  • Develop Test Cases and Test Scripts to test Change Requests.
  • Perform End-to-End Testing for Software & Infrastructure Releases.
  • Test System defects and perform Regression Testing.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complicated tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a relevant area from a US accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software testing or a related field.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Access) and specialized software programs.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for a Public Trust clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HP ALM (5 years preferred).
  • Experience in a federal government IT environment.
