About the position

Edgesource is seeking an experienced Software Tester to join our Agile Development team. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products and data sources, particularly in cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing, familiarity with JIRA for issue tracking, and the ability to work in a hybrid schedule, performing duties both onsite and remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and perform manual and automated testing activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures for cloud-based software applications and data sources.
  • Perform software testing to identify defects and validate acceptance criteria.
  • Utilize JIRA to track and manage testing activities, defects, and test case execution.
  • Report and document defects and work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate in test automation efforts and enhance automated test suites.
  • Provide clear and concise status reports on testing progress and results.
  • Provide input for useful tools for the platform Test Framework based on program needs.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Scrum Masters to assess impacts of functionality being delivered.

Requirements

  • Active TS//SCI Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, System Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong experience with JIRA for test case management and defect tracking.
  • Experience in software testing, with a focus on testing cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
  • Security+ certified or willing to obtain prior to hire (certification costs reimbursed).
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Azure Fundamentals certified or willing to obtain prior to hire (certification costs reimbursed).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with performance testing using JMeter.
  • Familiarity with multiple web application automation testing tools, including Selenium and Playwright.
  • Familiarity with testing using Python.
  • Familiarity with SQL script development against PostgreSQL databases.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing or quality assurance.
