About the position

IMG is seeking an experienced Software Tester to support our mission-vital customer in Columbia, MD. The Software Tester will be responsible for developing and maintaining the test plan and associated test procedures for over 20+ web-based user-facing services. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can test complex applications while exercising tenacity and patience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with development staff to find answers to issues and clarify requirements to achieve successful deployment of quality applications. The Software Tester will perform manual testing and will also build on or acquire knowledge of automated test tools for software applications testing. A critical aspect of this role involves evaluating services for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, using tools such as Job Access With Speech (JAWS), NoCoffee, Site Improve, AXE, and WAVE. The tester will interact with developers in person, via GitLab issues, and/or email to maximize efficiency while minimizing interruptions to the developers' ongoing work. Additionally, the Software Tester will utilize JMeter or other tools for applications load testing. The role also includes reviewing, analyzing, updating, and providing feedback on requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation, including service build instructions, which are documented in GitLab and wikis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the test plan and associated test procedures for over 20+ web-based user-facing services.
  • Test complex applications while collaborating with development staff to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
  • Perform manual testing and acquire knowledge of automated test tools for software applications testing.
  • Evaluate services for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508 using various accessibility tools.
  • Interact with developers to maximize efficiency and minimize interruptions during their work.
  • Use JMeter or other tools for applications load testing.
  • Review, analyze, update, and provide feedback on requirements and process documentation.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance is required.
  • DoD 8570 Compliance with IAM Level 1 (Sec+) certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or five years of experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Effective verbal and writing skills for communicating test results clearly and objectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
