About the position

The Software Tester at Spalding Consulting, Inc. is responsible for analyzing, documenting, troubleshooting, and testing applications to ensure they meet specified requirements. This role involves developing detailed test plans, maintaining standard test metrics, and communicating test results effectively. The position requires collaboration with software developers and clients to gather and analyze requirements, converting them into actionable user stories or features. The role is primarily remote, with some on-site requirements for local candidates during onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, document, troubleshoot, and test applications.
• Develop detailed test plans and procedures for test cases/scenarios based on requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard test metrics.
• Document and perform a detailed analysis of test results and adjust test cases accordingly.
• Communicate and document test results that are inconsistent with requirements and design specifications.
• Meet with customers to gather, document, and analyze requirements.
• Convert requirements into epics, user stories, or features.
• Work closely with software developers to ensure understanding of and adherence to requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to application users and resolve user issues.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Experience using Application Lifecycle Management tools (Jira).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.).
• Experience testing web applications.
• Desire to tackle new challenges and willingness to support helpdesk and training functions when needed.
