About the position

Fathom 4, LLC is seeking a dedicated Software Tester to join our team in Charleston, SC. This position requires a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. citizens to be considered. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining test plans and procedures for 30-day security updates, configuring and maintaining the test environment, and conducting Test Readiness Reviews. You will deliver comprehensive Test Reports and perform system-level software testing to validate functionality after the application of security updates. Collaboration with the development team is essential, as you will work together to reproduce and troubleshoot issues encountered during testing. Additionally, you will assist Subject Matter Experts and Technical Writers with documentation efforts, including test cases, test reports, and software load plans. Management of project test beds and network devices will also be part of your responsibilities, which includes configuring Linux and Windows-based test support systems, as well as layer 2 and 3 switches and routers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Test Plans and Procedures for 30-day security updates.
  • Configures and maintains test environment.
  • Conducts Test Readiness Reviews and delivers Test Reports.
  • Performs system level software testing to accurately validate functionality following application of 30-day security updates.
  • Works with development team to reproduce/troubleshoot issues encountered during testing.
  • Assists Subject Matter Experts and Technical Writers with documentation efforts (test cases, test reports, software load plans).
  • Assists in management of project test beds and network devices, including configuration of Linux and Windows-based test support systems and layer 2 & 3 switches and routers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of Computerized System experience, including Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and Windows based operating systems.
  • Current Secret security clearance required; must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Familiarity with MS Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with a Command Line Interface (CLI) such as PowerShell or bash.
  • Working knowledge of system administration.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills for project documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comp TIA Sec+ certified.
  • Experience working with USMC Intel Programs of Record (POR).
