Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a highly skilled Software Tester with over 4 years of experience to join our team in Indian Head, Maryland. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting software testing activities, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. This position requires a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, as well as familiarity with various development activities, including programming languages, databases, frameworks, and libraries. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing comprehensive software test cases, plans, and reports. You will review and understand the functionality of software and applications to effectively test specific feature capabilities. A solid understanding of distributed systems is essential, as you will configure test environments and execute test plans accordingly. Collaboration with the software development team is key, as you will troubleshoot and remediate issues in production environments. You will analyze each project's environment, architecture, and inter-dependencies to determine appropriate testing methodologies and cases relevant to the applications being tested. Utilizing defect tracking and test case management systems, you will document test sets, record defects, and track test case execution results. Additionally, you will attend information sessions related to newly developed features and provide accurate feedback during document reviews. Assisting in writing scripts for automated testing of application functionality will also be part of your responsibilities. Clear communication with supervisors regarding the status of assigned tasks is essential, as is the ability to complete work successfully within allotted time frames. You should be capable of working independently as well as part of a team, researching data and developing analytical techniques and methodologies, while also adapting to testing processes and policies.
