About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Software Tester to join our team in Colorado Springs, supporting the United States Space Force (USSF). This role is pivotal in developing software solutions that enhance the capabilities of the Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch. The Software Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications designed to protect, defend, and respond to cyber threats targeting both ground and space systems. As a Software Tester, you will engage in the rapid agile development process, collaborating closely with software developers and other stakeholders to identify testing requirements and develop comprehensive test plans. You will execute various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing, to ensure that the software meets the highest standards of quality. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of our cyber defense strategies, making this a highly rewarding position. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for software applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with software developers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
  • Document testing processes and results, providing clear feedback to the development team.
  • Assist in the development of automated testing scripts and frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC).
