About the position

CACI has an immediate need for a Software Tester (ST) to support our Client in Chantilly, VA. The Software Tester will play a crucial role in defining and developing test standards for the testing of information technology products, equipment, or systems in accordance with company and contractual requirements. This position involves reviewing and evaluating complex test specifications, test results, and test trends, and implementing corrective actions as needed. The ST is responsible for determining the optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions to ensure compliance with applicable specifications. This includes identifying and recommending product or solution characteristics that optimize their ability to be tested or to provide test data for diagnostic purposes. The Software Tester will combine customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The ST will develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems. Additionally, the ST will coordinate integrated testing activities, review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the completeness of the test program, perform technical analysis of complete systems, and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations. This position will encompass several functions, including working with a friendly team with growth opportunities, ensuring that all tests are conducted in a proper and orderly manner, and motivating test team members to stay on track. The ST will also stay abreast of emerging and changing software technologies and design practices to provide solutions that are leading edge, competitive, and cost-effective. Establishing expected standards for quality assurance and communicating them to the entire test team is essential. The ST will provide feedback to testers, setting quality standards and helping improve their work, and will develop a test automation strategy for projects in an AGILE methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, develops, maintains, and executes manual and automated test standards for the testing of information technology products, including SharePoint and .Net custom web applications and websites.
  • Tests software releases during the product development.
  • Writes or assists in the development of test plans and test procedures.
  • Establishes test processes and requirements documents.
  • Reports test results and enters problems and issues into the database.
  • Assists with the development of user documentation and/or guides.
  • Collaborates with project managers, business analysts, and technical writers to ensure manuals are in sync with the software and business process.
  • May assist with the analyses to develop testing design options or recommendations and may assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications on low-level projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 5 - 7 years of related experience.
  • Active and current TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience in an Agile environment and Scrum methodology.
  • Experience with automated testing and security testing.
  • Familiarity with MS TFS and Zap (security testing).
