About the position

The Software Tester position at SkyePoint Decisions involves conducting functional and integration testing for the IRS's tax processing systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of software applications used in tax administration. The position requires collaboration with a team of cybersecurity professionals to protect sensitive data and improve the cybersecurity infrastructure. It is a contingent role based on customer approval, offering a hybrid work schedule in Lanham, MD.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional and/or integration testing of multiple programs in an IBM mainframe or client/server environment.
• Support the IRS's tax processing pipeline and master file systems.
• Use IRS or Contractor-developed documentation to construct test cases with predetermined results and test data.
• Review output to determine whether test results fulfill established requirements and notify responsible programmers of errors or inconsistencies.
• Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing.
• Provide inputs on the required testing level of effort for Unified Work Requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant IT and software testing experience; OR a Master's degree or PhD with 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) Public Trust.
• Must be a US Citizen.
