About the position

P&G is seeking a PhD intern skilled in computer science and software design to join the Grooming Global Product Stewardship team. The primary objective of this role is to innovate, design, and deliver a software tool for automated exposure assessment of materials in grooming products, such as razors. This position involves reviewing current safety assessment processes, collaborating with multi-functional teams, and delivering a scalable software tool for safety assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Review current safety assessment processes/tools and P&G database structure.
  • Integrate new functionalities into the current safety assessment software platform.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams across multiple sites.
  • Deliver a workable, scalable software tool for automated safety assessment of razors.

Requirements

  • PhD candidate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Skills in Python, SQL, CSS, JAVA, machine learning, database management, and data science.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to understand existing code and write new scalable code.
  • Strong ownership and self-leadership skills to understand business objectives and technical problems.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with technical specialists.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Mathematics, Physics, or Life Sciences (Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Risk Assessment).
