About the position

The Accounting Manager/Controller at Namaste Solar is responsible for leading the accounting function, establishing financial controls and procedures, and managing all accounting data and systems. This role requires a balance between maintaining GAAP compliance and providing real-time, actionable financial data to support operational needs. The position reports directly to the CFO and plays a crucial role in financial reporting, budgeting, and team leadership within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and present accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Collaborate with department heads to create insightful budgetary transaction data.
• Oversee the accounts receivable/accounts payable process, ensuring timely payments, invoicing, and reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and internal controls, working with external auditors on deliverables.
• Manage cost accounting processes related to residential and commercial solar projects, tracking project expenses and ensuring financial accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks.
• Oversee accounting software (Sage Intacct) and Namaste Solar business systems to streamline operations, ensuring system efficiencies and accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and implement best practices for accounting procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of eight years processing a variety of corporate accounting transactions (AR, AP, GL).
• Two years of experience building, developing, and inspiring a high-performing professional accounting team.
• Solar or construction accounting experience with job costing/WIP accounting is a plus.
• Strong accounting systems experience, with Sage Intacct experience being a plus.
• Experience running on EOS is a plus.
• Self-starter, results-oriented, with a positive attitude and a drive to learn.
