About the position

Our established solar installation business is seeking a dedicated Solar Consultant to join our team. This role is crucial for developing relationships with prospective customers, guiding them through the sales process, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The Solar Consultant will report directly to the Operations Manager and will play an integral part in our business operations. We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer and encourage only qualified applicants to apply. As a Solar Consultant, you will be responsible for converting leads into signed contracts while meeting both individual and company-wide sales goals. You will maintain an expert working knowledge of the residential solar industry, including products, utility rates, incentive programs, and current trends. Building and nurturing relationships with both prospective and existing customers will be a key part of your role, as you will serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process. Your responsibilities will include responding to new inquiries, gathering information, and pre-qualifying prospective customers. You will conduct site visits to take photos, measure roofs, and assess existing electrical systems. Additionally, you will work with utilities and customers to gather energy consumption data and use appropriate design tools to determine preliminary array and inverter sizes. You will generate accurate and detailed proposals using an Excel-based estimating tool and review these proposals with the Manager before presenting them to customers. Following up with customers, closing sales, and executing contracts will also be part of your duties. After securing contracts, you will hand off the signed agreements to the Installations team with detailed project information and conduct post-installation customer orientations. To ensure customer satisfaction, you will send out Customer Satisfaction Surveys and Thank You cards after project completion. Throughout the sales process, you will update and maintain the Customer Tracking workbook and assist with marketing and lead generation activities. Regular attendance at sales meetings with the sales team is also expected.
