About the position

As a Solar Sales Consultant, you will play a crucial role in promoting and selling solar energy solutions to both existing and potential clients. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and are eager to contribute to the growth of our local energy company. The role offers flexibility similar to that of a realtor, allowing for both full-time and part-time schedules. However, we are looking for a committed and dedicated individual who can effectively manage their time and responsibilities. Your primary responsibilities will include visiting clients to assess their energy needs and promote our solar products and services. You will be responsible for generating leads, both independently and through company-generated opportunities, and will negotiate contracts with prospective clients. Additionally, you will prepare and submit sales contracts for orders and participate in staffing marketing events to enhance our visibility in the community. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and your performance will directly influence your compensation, which ranges from $35,000 to $75,000 annually based on experience and sales success. To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in sales, marketing, or customer relations, ideally within the energy sector. A solid understanding of solar energy systems and their benefits is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical, as you will be interacting with a diverse range of clients. Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite is also required, along with availability for weekend and evening work as needed. Responsibilities

  • Visiting existing and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Generating leads in addition to following through on company generated leads
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders
  • Participating in staffing marketing events
  • Performing corrective maintenance and service repair
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years professional experience in sales, marketing, or customer relations, preferably in energy or related fields
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven sales track record
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems and their benefits
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite
  • Availability on most weekends and evenings
