About the position

The Solar Consultant at Halo Solar LLC will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and customer acquisition by providing tailored energy solutions to prospects. This position is designed for an individual who can effectively navigate the sales process, ensuring that potential customers receive comprehensive and appropriate solutions that align with their energy needs. The consultant will be the face of the company in the market, embodying the company's core values and ethics while engaging with clients. The role is primarily remote, with initial training conducted at the company headquarters in Goodfield, IL. After training, the consultant will be expected to travel to the headquarters several times a month for team strategy sessions. The designated territory for this position includes McHenry, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Will, Winnebago, and Boone Counties. The consultant will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales quotas, generating leads through cold calling, and maintaining daily sales activity in the CRM system. In addition to sales responsibilities, the consultant will collaborate with the Project Design Engineer and Project Manager to ensure that proposals meet client needs and that all sold jobs are executed smoothly. Building and maintaining relationships with contractors and clients will be essential, as will the ability to manage a large project pipeline effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a positive and ambitious attitude, and the ability to work independently while being coachable. No prior experience in solar energy is required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid background in outside sales.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales quotas provided by the organization
  • Lead generation and cold calling
  • Communicate with Project Design Engineer for proposal needs
  • Communicate with Project Manager on all sold jobs
  • Coordinate with engineer team on project specs
  • Follow up with all leads
  • Present proposals to customers
  • Collection and signing of all paperwork required
  • Maintain sales activity daily in our CRM system
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with contractors

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in outside sales
  • Effective leadership and communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Ambitious attitude with abundant positive energy
  • Capable of working flexible hours and accommodating various working styles
  • Ability to effectively manage work responsibilities and priorities as a remote worker
  • Proficient in or ability to learn to use smart phone with hot spot, mobile apps, Surface Pro, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel to potential clients and company headquarters

Nice-to-haves

  • No experience in solar required
  • Coachable but confidently independent when set free
  • Ability to build rapport with prospects and act as a relationship manager throughout the fulfillment process
  • Ability to analyze every step of the fulfillment process to optimize efficiency
