About the position

The Corporate Paralegal (Project Finance) at Standard Solar plays a crucial role in supporting the legal department by providing a wide range of legal and administrative assistance related to the acquisition, development, and financing of solar energy projects across the United States. This position is integral to ensuring that all legal aspects of solar projects are managed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the company's initiatives in the renewable energy sector. In this role, the Corporate Paralegal will be responsible for coordinating and supporting various transactions and legal matters. This includes conducting project due diligence, managing documents, and supporting the negotiation and execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and other transactional documents. The paralegal will also prepare initial drafts of corporate organization documents, such as LLC operating agreements, and will interface with outside counsel to ensure compliance and legal integrity in all dealings. Additionally, the Corporate Paralegal will manage corporate formations and governance, maintaining operating agreements, resolutions, and corporate certificates. They will also be tasked with maintaining the corporate organizational chart and preparing a variety of internal and external correspondences. A critical part of the role involves reviewing and editing legal forms, documents, and contracts for accuracy, as well as performing administrative duties to support both the legal and finance teams. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work independently, ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination and support on a variety of transactions and matters, including project due diligence and document management
  • Support the negotiation and execution of NDAs, and various other transactional documents

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, or paralegal studies certificate program
  • Experience working as a corporate paralegal or project manager at a law firm or in-house at a company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Document management skills a plus
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Renewable energy or solar acquisition/financing experience a definite plus, but not required
