About the position
ATX Solar is seeking a full-time Solar Crew Lead to join our installation department. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of the company while overseeing solar installation projects. The Crew Lead will be responsible for managing the installation of solar systems, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining customer satisfaction. This position promises significant potential for upward mobility as the company expands.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of systems that interconnect solar arrays to the grid of residential properties.
- Oversee and perform installation of racking, modules, inverters, combiner boxes, grounding, disconnects, and wall work.
- Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local amendments.
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
- Work with the lead electrician to ensure timely completion of installations.
- Assist with completion of installation reports and commissioning reports, as needed.
- Perform system commissioning and function checks.
- Transport solar installation materials from warehouse to job sites.
Requirements
- Journeyman License or Residential Wiremen license preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of solar installation experience.
- Understanding of the NEC as it relates to the installation of solar electric systems.
- Competence in design of PV systems including electrical wire sizing, conduit sizing, installation methods, conduit bending, etc.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/plan sets.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- OSHA 10 hour certification (preferred).
- NABCEP certification (preferred).
