About the position

We are seeking a skilled Solar Electrician to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) solar systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and high standards of workmanship. This role involves performing residential service upgrades, installing back-up battery systems and EV chargers, troubleshooting electrical issues, and maintaining accurate records of materials and work orders. Adherence to safety regulations and quality control is essential.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain photovoltaic (PV) solar systems.
• Perform residential service upgrades and repairs.
• Install back-up battery systems and EV chargers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
• Maintain high-quality control of tools, vehicles, and materials.
• Keep accurate records of material used and proper documentation on work orders.
• Ensure compliance with all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA standards.

Requirements

• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and construction sets.
• Experience in installing electrical portions of PV solar systems.
• Ability to run solar DC/AC circuits.
• Experience in bending, threading, and installing rigid type conduits from ½” to 4”.
• Knowledge of current NEC and other relevant local codes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Record-keeping and quality control experience.
